First Class Music For The Jet Set |
kris, September 28, 2001 at 11:42:24 PM CEST Soulful Strut/Am I The Same Girl Earlier this week I posted a selection of 70's Sound and Funk tunes including Young-Holt Unlimited's 'Soulful Strut' and the vocal version 'Am I The Same Girl' originally by Barbara Acklin and covered by Dusty Springfield. I hadn't known that a vocal version existed until I found one by Swing Out Sister on a crappy Acid Jazz compilation. Thank Google for this great page on soulwalking.co.uk: "The record's backing tracks were used as a basis for Young-Holt Unlimited's instrumental hit 'Soulful Strut', with a piano in place of Acklin's vocals." Soulwalking is also worth to check out every few weeks as they post new and classic soul records with audio clips. mkt, October 8, 2001 at 2:21:10 PM CEST

terrorists travel first class but the real story is, we are discussing the possibilities of an internet radio station: a couple of people from all over the world will contribute to a regular programme, mainly to impress each other. see some earlier post about the idea. this site will (or will not) serve as discussion group. if you want to join, you are welcome. mkt, October 8, 2001 at 7:05:02 PM CEST
