kris, August 21, 2001 at 6:05:53 PM CEST Herbie Mann at the Village Gate Go and read this brilliant review! It also links to sound clips. In the mid-90's we used to have a weekly Radio Show (the BBBC) by the Blood Brothers a.k.a. Pressure Drop. They played a good mix of Drum & Bass, Break Beats, Hip-Hop, Dancehall and original 60's and 70's Jazz, Soul, Funk, Reggae and Dub. I taped some of their broadcasts, but all tapes have been "borrowed" by friends. Anyway, they played a long 60's Herbie Mann tune, sort of laid back Bossa Nova/Latin style with a great bass solo. I'd been looking for this ever since and today I found it. It is called "Comin' Home Baby". Read the line up. They have two (!!) double bass players. Great sound! Check "Summertime" on Filepile.
