The blurb cites Boards of Canada, Eno, Aphex & Kraftwerk, but really it's far more jazz influenced than that would lead you to expect. Standout tracks include "People Eating Fruit", and the BoC influenced "Dundas, Ontario". It's impressively varied, with some hardcore noise in places, but overall an impressive slab of ambient/jazz/breaks malarkey. lcbo, November 8, 2001 at 7:55:21 PM CET

...then you'll love... Here's a set from an in-studio session he did for CBC radio. It's what got me hooked on Manitoba, and it's way more beautiful than anything on Stop Breaking My Heart (a fine album regardless). I hope it's a sign of what he'll be releasing on his next album, supposedly due out before the fall. Please login to add a comment |
